I knew this would be an excellent one,
I really enjoyed the music in this film,
more so than ESOTSM music.
Just wait till the video/DVD sales go out, you ain't seen nothin yet.
Its like having a matched set, the book & the video/dvd.

There's nothing more fun than going to a matinee when your having a bad day and you're the only one in the theater and laughing out loud to the wonderful antics of Jim! I just saw it today after getting a paycheck that won't pay the bills. It brings things into perspective. "Life is too Beautiful" to let your worries get you down. It totally made my day. What fun! the theatre staff thought I was off my rocker!

I think it will decline with about 1000-1500 Friday! :( I am disappointed with the numbers. With a budget like this it should have grossed much more... :?

I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEAN!

While looking at the Production Budget and seeing the
box office figures I understand (perhaps not fully) the frustration.
I too way over estimated.
In comparison, what was the Grinch like in Production Costs and
Sales. Over time did things change?. Was the Grinch a Classic from
the beginning or did time age the picture making it more worthwhile?
My son went to see the Fockers and he said Lemony was better.
Oft times people see what is available and there are so many
ify's in what could happen.
Its like saying tomorrow it will be sunny and suddenly it ends up
raining. Everyone blames the weather people, but reality is
"SHT HAPPENS"

The reason it won't do as well as the rest of Jim's films is because its got a smaller and more select audience.

Jim's fans will go see it and fans of the book will go see it, but its not as popular a book as Harry Potter was.

It appeals to a different sort of reader than Harry Potter, although I'm sure there are some overlapping fans.

I concur. I *might* rent it on video. I think there was more to this project than an expectation of Box Office. If there ever is. I was scratching my head over Meryl Streep's involvement. Over and above Jim, I will rent this, if I do...in order to see Meryl Streep.
