Tommy,

Do you know the answer to the following question : Has "I Love You Phillip Morris" opened wide already in the US? If so ... wow, not doing well. If not ... when is it opening wide?

Many websites wrote it would open wide January 7, but it didn't. :?

I got a reply from the US distributor the other day. It won't have a wide release, unfortunately. It will play in all major markets. Now playing in 100 theaters. It was all they could tell.

I wonder why they didn't tried to go a bit wider last weekend with the great promotion the movie got on SNL and especially on Inside the Actors Studio yesterday.

The avarage gross per screen seems good. If Roadside Attractions doesn't have plans to expand to more than 200 theaters the gross will not be more than a few millions dollars.

I can't find a complete list of theaters to post. I can search after theaters with zip codes or cities. Just post if you want me to find some.

That's a surprise. Jim was everywhere last week, indeed. And I think it was clearly planned all this would happen at the same time 'Morris' would go wide. This was the perfect time for a wide release. After all this movie has been through, all for nothing. So it seems. Cause, if they don't do it now, it's too late. It's that simple. The BluRay is available (almost) everywhere outside the US now.

Also it's a sad moment in the career of Carrey. This is his first movie since he became big that ... well, had trouble and didn't make it in the end. This is the very first time, that's a bad thing. I think we can conclude that. I'm talking about his status as an actor in Hollywood. Money-wise. Ofcours, on a personal level it's a good thing this performance seems to get a 'two thumbs up' (most of the time) all over the world.

Thanks for the info.
