It's bad that it comes straight to DVD in some countries.

But people even though, Jim's in it, this isn't Jim's first movie going straight to DVD. For me, for that to happen he would have to be playing the lead character which is not the case for "The Incrediable Burt Wonderstone". His record is clean in my book.

When I look at The Netherlands or Belgium, this actually is the first Jim Carrey movie after 1994 that would not make it into theatres. So,I don't see it that way. It's not interesting for him having a career as an actor when it comes to ... well, you know. There are a lot of crappy comedies without big names that make it into theatres everywhere, only to be released on blu-ray and DVD just a few weeks after that. So, if this happens with a Steve Carell and Jim Carrey movie ... Same for Steve, btw. Not good.

Jim is advertised equaly as Steve for this flick, even though he's not the main character. In some movies those characters are more important than the actual leads, cause there would be no reason for Burt Wonderstone to be around without his nemesis. Same for Kick-Ass by the way. He has the smaller role, but a very important one. Remember how everyone was talking about Big Daddy and Nic Cage was (suddenly) praised for that? He's the new Big Daddy for the second part.

Anyway, I'm still hoping there are some countries left where BW will be released in theatres.

I agree, this movie should be easy to sell. Specialy in Europe, where Jim surely still is one of the highest grossing comedians.

Got the news from WB (Benelux). In the Netherlands and Belgium it's also coming directly to DVD this october. Not even sure if it will be available on blu-ray. :(

I just can't understand what WB did worldwide. There is no doubt that Burt Wonderstone would have break even, at least. Now it's considered a flop, while the only blame for that is WB. While it didn't have to be. They did it to themselves. They should have simply released it ... it has Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell for god sakes. So, I'm pissed that for a lot of countries in the world now Jim Carrey has his very first directly tot DVD movie. And that's simply not good. Not in any possible way. I'm not saying it will hurt his carreer for sure, but it's not helping either. All that because of WB.
