The Kate fans get it good don't they! Both Admiring Kate and Discover Kate are awesome sites! Kate and Jim need a clause in their contract that they only do films together from now on! lol!

They both gave it a thumbs up!

Roeper: "Jim Carrey has been trying for almost a decade now to try expand his career beyond slapstick. In Eternal Sunshine he has one of his weirdest and darkest roles. Kate plays a wonderfuly, edgy character. The ride in someone's head was a distrubing, funny, and absurd. I loved it."

Ebert: "I loved it too. Charlie Kaufan is one weird dude. There is a lot of truth about relationships in this movie. This makes being a movie critic a real nice job."

Love & Humor,
Marissa
My Jim Site: Jim Carrey Is My Inspiration!

"If you give up on your dreams, what's left?" - Jim Carrey

Sleep-guide.com

Btw, if you go to Rotten Tomatoes, don't read the Movie Justice review. It's an evil bad review and we don't need that crap! lol! The first bad review I've seen for this movie... not good, not gooooood! lol!

The good news... the good FAR outweighs the bad which is awesome!

Quote:
I don't like him also, but just because you don't agree with a critic doesn't mean you have to put it that way. Every movie, bad or good, will be reviewed by people who dislike or dig it totaly.

Steve, again let me explain this as Simple as possible for you and everyone else. Ebert is a crappy critic he has gave Many great movies bad reviews. If you really need him to decide for you if a movie is good or not you need help. He hates alot of Carrey's great older work, and now that that he likes one movie you expect him to get a medal. There is no talent at all at being a movie critic anyone could do it. The guy is a walking heart Attack, why doesn't he ever write a movie? Since he knows so much. Yes the guy is full of it, and you better believe that he is being paid to give some of these movies good reviews thats how hollywood works baby.

I think you could probably say that about any reviewer not just Ebert! I don't think there was a good review for Ace etc. I don't think Jim ever did those movies to impress the critics, he did them for the public which often have different opinions from the critics. Ebert's actually given a lot of my fave movies great reviews so I can't complain about him.

But really I don't care. As long as people aren't dissing Jim's dramatic abilities I'm a happy girl!

Quote:
"Steve, again let me explain this as Simple as possible for you and everyone else."

There's nothing really to explain you know, nothing new here.

Quote:
"Ebert is a crappy critic he has gave Many great movies bad reviews."

As I said before, just because you don't agree, that doesn't make him a crappy critic!

Quote:
"If you really need him to decide for you if a movie is good or not you need help."

A critic doesn't decide for us what's a good movie or not, he only says how he, the critic himself, thinks about it. He doesn't say, "Hey, what I say is right and you are not aloud to have an other opinion!". We're all free to read/hear/see it, we're all free to agree or not agree with it and the only thing you really can do is try to understand a vision about a movie of a man or woman that really knows A LOT on all the different aspects of filmmaking. And believe me, if there's anyone that want's to make up his own mind of a movie, it's me! If you think or feel or whatever a critic is trying to decide for us if a movie is good or not, … well then, the only one around here, (I could say "needing some help" like you *rolleyes*) that has to re-think some things over.. is you. *points at you* But I ain't pushing ya…

Quote:
"He hates allot of Carrey's great older work, and now that that he likes one movie you expect him to get a medal. There is no talent at all at being a movie critic anyone could do it."

He "hates" allot of Carrey's work… wow, what an argument! So what? If someone doesn't think Ace Ventura (by example) isn't a funny guy, he's forced to look at the rest of the movie to get some positive points. And really, I dig Ace, but I can imagine that people who don't like him, think the rest of the movie is pure crap. And you know what? I can understand that. But that's my own opinion. Is someone saying that he should get a medal? I by example dislike the most Adam Sandler films but 'Punch-Drunk Love' imho, is a little romantic masterpiece, and I thought Sandler was fabulous. Now, is there a problem about that? It's you! YOU are the one having a problem with the fact he doesn't like some other Carrey-pics, don't blame that on the critics.

Quote:
"There is no talent at all at being a movie critic anyone could do it. The guy is a walking heart Attack, why doesn't he ever write a movie? Since he knows so much."

LOL! Anyone could do it? phu-lease! Anyone can write his/here opinion about a movie. And every opinion should be respected. But a decent review with insight on ALL the aspects of filmmaking and really knowing a bunch of it? Not at all! Btw, it's almost the same as saying everyone can be a writer.
And why should a critic write a movie? To prove something? That's simply a stupid thing to say. A director tells his cast how to act, so if it think like you, i have to say "Why doesn't the director acts himself?".

Quote:
"Yes the guy is full of it, and you better believe that he is being paid to give some of these movies good reviews thats how hollywood works baby."

It's clear to me, you absolutely have NO idea how things work at all. You're reacting like a blind fan. What I think is that you are having trouble with your own @#%$ up way of thinking.

* * * I respect your opinion, when it's all reasonable, but when it's simply dull and it seems the problem is you and your little way of thinking, there are limits. What I said above isn't to protect Ebert. I wouldn't know why. Maybe he isn't a good reviewer, I don't know. My point is, All the things that you say, doesn't make him a bad critic. But just don't forget : With Lacuna yo… I mean, watching a movie is totally a personal experience!

Steve all I said was that he is full of it, and his reviews suck. Why do you take this so personal? You go on and on about how you think ebert should have his own opinion, well you are right but so should I. If I dont like his reviews and think he sucks whos to say I cant say so? I dont like most of his reviews, so what?
I also do not like him discouraging Carrey and telling him to stay away from comedies (Which he did when Truman Came out). We dont know if he isn't getting paid to give some terrible movies good reviews, it has been done before. Get over it.
