*sighs* I know. I wish Jim could've, at least, do a cameo (That's what Nicole Kidman did for "Panic Room" after Jodie Foster took her place). Nonetheless, I'll watch the movie cuz it's interesting. Plus, Colin Farrell's pretty cute

*TaKe KaRe NoW |

| BuH ~ BYe THeN*

Boring

Postby beatdogzillop » Sun Sep 15, 2002 9:50 pm

Come on, Jim wouldn't even be able to save that movie. Watching a guy almost get killed while standing in a phone booth. Dropping that a taking Bruce Almighty was a smart move.

Well...

Postby Carreylover » Sun Sep 15, 2002 11:22 pm

It's not that bad. The trailer is good but you know it's a 2 hour movie that takes place in a Phone Booth. I am sure it will be a good movie I don't know about great. And Jim well he said he really did not get into the character really it's not really because he was choosing and all.

Exactly! You're absolutely right. If there is someone who can save a movie it's Jim. I believe he can do anything!

You guys are all so incredibly sad! Why do you just sit around crying about yesterday when there is so much in prospect for tomorrow? Anyway, no one is perfect.

Get lives. Re: Phone Booth delayed

Postby SA JCFan » Thu Oct 17, 2002 4:31 am

Whoa, talk about bad timing. "Phone Booth" has been postponed indefinitely due to real life sniper events happening in D.C and Maryland.

Do you think Jim made a smart move dropping outta this movie? I mean sure, I was pretty mad when I found he moved on to other projects but looking back... If Jim did this movie, this would've been a serious dilemma And judging by some movies that were unbelievably similar to such disasterous events (i.e. "Collateral Damage" and "Big Trouble" were moved cuz of 9/11), it wouldn't fare well either.

*TaKe KaRe NoW |

| BuH ~ BYe THeN*

***SNiP! Yeah, I'm kinda glad Jim passed on this one now. Even though I would love to see him in this type of role like a thriller I just don't think this one would have been the right one, especially now with this sniper thing going on. It just hits too close to home. I thought the movie looked interesting until all of this post 9/11 stuff started happening. Jim doesn't need another bomb right now anyway and I think that when this does come out it will bomb. It probably would have bombed anyway considering that it was supposed to open the same day as Harry Potter. I work at a movie theater and I saw last year how after Harry Potter came out everything else just bombed until Lord of the Rings. Opening a movie the same day as Harry Potter is not a smart move and now with the whole sniper thing it was a good idea to delay it. The question is, will delaying it still do any good? Will the country really ever be ready to see a film like that? That's why films like Collateral Damage and Big Trouble bombed. I'm just glad that Jim didn't do it now. Taking Majestic was a much smarter move. I know it didn't fare well at the box office but it was such an amazing movie and it was perfect after 9/11. There was no violence whatsoever and it was just a great story that made you feel good. I think it was one of his best movies and it was way better then Phone Booth looks. Jim knows what he's doing when he's picking scripts. I have faith in him. And I can't wait for Bruce Almighty!

Melanie
