I don't mean to continue with it, but I have yet to post anything regarding it so I am going to do that right quick and be done with it.<br><br>Firstly, I agree with some points and disagree with others. There have been so many of them that I will not even attempt to touch on each of them. That would take way too long. <br><br>So here is my humble opinion. Let me give you a different point of view.<br><br>We all know that Jim loved and admired Jimmy Stewart. Right? Well, what some may not know, even though I am sure most of us do know, Jim did not have an ideal and good meeting with his idol the first time he met him. <br><br>Here is the story I have heard. If I am wrong about details, I apologize, I am just going by what I have read and heard over the years. Jim met Jimmmy Stewart in a church. I am not sure what the event was but that is where he met him. Jim was talking to Jimmy and apparently, Mr. Stewart was offended how Jim Carrey was idolizing him in the church. It kinda put Jimmy Stewart off to Jim. So imagine meeting Jim Carrey and it turning out like that! <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :( --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":("><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> Jim of all people, even if he has changed because of success over the years, knows what it is like to meet your idol. But his attempt got screwed up. At least that is the story I have heard. <br><br>After going through what Jim has gone through in his life, homelessness, moving to USA, hard times, divorce, failure, and then success, it is natural that he is going to change. I have admired him for 13 years now and it is very scary to me that my life is turning out like his was. It is a creepy feeling. I would never in a million years want my life to be the way it has been last year. However, I will admit that it makes me feel more of a connection with Jim. But the road has been hard. I would never want to go through this again! Not because of who he is, because like some have been saying, he is only human after all. The reason I was nervous is because I was afraid of rejection or him not wanting to take few minutes to talk with me. I am sure most of you have read the story when I met him, but let me just mention one particular part:<br><br>"Jim, his daughter Jane, Linda, and some other man walk out the back doors. Then a few other guys joined in the group. They were just standing out there talking. By this point it is 10:00 pm and I told them that if the group got smaller I would go over to Jim. About 10 seconds later, about 3 of the people walked off and all that was left was Jim, Jane, Linda, and the guy who I assume is a bodyguard. So I got a fresh piece of gum and decided that I should not litter (LOL) and go over to the trashcan that was about 5 feet from Jim and his group. So I started walking over there like I was on some mission from God! LOL <br><br>I threw my trash away and took one step away from the trash can and I waited. All 4 of them looked over at me at the same time and the bodyguard guy kinda tensed up a bit but Jim put is hand out towards them and said really sweetly, "No. It's okay." <br><br>He looked me right in the eye, smiled really big, put out his hand before I had even done so."<br><br>He was with a very close and intimate group. His daughter and his assistant, for goodness sake. I felt like I was intruding on a family meeting or something. But I knew I had to take my shot. Jim was nice and open when that one guy, I call him the "guard guy", kinda tensed up at me. I am definately not scary, but I guess that is just that guy's job. But Jim was open and nice even when it he was with his family. <br><br>So I know that Jim can be nice. But I also have heard a lot of stories where he has not been so open to fans. Does this make me different from the other fans who have met him? No, not really. Because since he is simply human, he is going to have mood swings and good and bad days too. So I just happened to meet him on a good day, I guess. Who knows? Or maybe since no one else really approached him after the movie, he was more open to it because he was not being surrounded by fans. Who knows? That is just the point. Only Jim knows when or if he is ready to talk to a fan depending on his mood. I have a friend, Chris Pontius, who is one of the guys from MTV's show jackass and Wild Boyz. He is as funny in person as he is on the show, he is super kind to his fans and believe me, he gets harassed ALOT. Every "dude" who comes across him gets so excited and worked up that they almost explode on impact. First, they want to shake his hand, then they want to tell him how cool he is, next it's "I wanna be on your show, I can totally do (fill in the blank here)." It usually ends up with them wanting autographs or photos, handing him cell phones to talk to their friends or not leaving him alone after making eye contact with him. The nature of his TV show attracts alot of nut jobs to him. He is patient with them to a degree, but there have been times when his friends have to intervene. Honestly, you can not have a 10 minute conversation with him without being interrupted by someone. It really gets tiresome after awhile. He somehow is still polite and respectful, but slowly he gets resentful and has to flee for some privacy. He is a minor celebrity at best, can you imagine someone of Jim's stature with the paparazzi stalking as well? I've noticed that lately when I meet Chris somewhere public, his posture is hunched, he pulls a hood over his head and appears extremely paranoid. It's sad to see him go from this fun loving guy to dreading human contact. He isn't like that everyday, he has ups and downs like everyone else, but recognition can take a toll on you if you are in a bad mood and it's easy to lash out on the first person who crosses the line. I think the biggest fan is someone who is respectful of the person's privacy. If you get some kind of O.K. signal, walk over, tell them you respect their work, shake their hand or whatever, say "Thanks for your time" and walk away. It honestly makes a bigger impression on a person than someone who overstays their welcome. If they feel comfortable around you, they'll come to you. After all they are just people. Just a thought... <p></p><i></i>
