A Geometrical Mind20 Apr 2002
Michael Gondry, the assigned director for "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" talked recently to Filmmaker Magazine and added a few more bits to the movie's quite intriguing plot.
"Spotless Mind", according to Gondry, "itís also from a script that Charlie [Kaufman] wrote, and itís again very geometrical. Itís about a guy who wants to erase his girlfriend from his memory. You get to see their relationship erased scene by scene, and then in the middle of the process, he changes his mind and decides to save her. So he takes her out of the memories she belongs in, and puts her in memories she doesn't belong in, to try and hide her. Itís very symmetrical, but very romantic as well."
