I think he'd make a good joker too!
I wonder why they didn't cast him in the first place.

sorry to dissapoint you Gunnit...............but you really need to do your homework...........lol............you're playing with the 'big guns' here.....
Jim was NOT the Joker in a previous movie.................he was of course a rather sexy Riddler.................for which he acted everyone off the screen and made Tommy Lee Jones look ridiculous..........and Val Kilmer sorely inadequate.................
He acted them all off the screen...........was universally acclaimed....and filled out a rather fetching spangly catsuit......lol....(for which i am eternally grateful.....lol)................
but if he wanted to do the joker he would no doubt be amazing and make Jack jolly nervous...............it might be fun for him..........

Re: Jim Carrey wants to play The Joker
Good, we need someone like Jim to spice up that boring franchise. I couldn't stand the newest batman flick. Boring tedious crap. But that's only my opinion of course.
I think that if someone is going to play the Joker so is it Jim..
I think he is the only one that is so "freaky" to play him.
In my own opinion I think it would be much better if someone that can make it better can do it lite Jim Carrey.
I´m not saying that the actor of the Joker sucks ... no, no.. I´m just saying that I think that Jim Carrey can play him much better as we saw in the movie "Batman Forever" ... He is very funny as the "bad guy"

I think Jim is to funny to do that. Face it, if Jim pulls a face, or laughs with that freaky smile, we would enjoy it and laugh out loud. I kinda liked Batman Forever because that Riddler was funny ... but it was a very bad movie. The Joker must be scary as hell and the moment Jim is going to hit the screen with a funny line, I'll propably laugh out loud... That's not what should happen.
Jack Nicholson was (IS) The Joker. Point. Not a need to re-do that.

Sorry to tell you that guys but... I'm a Batman geek
and I can tell you that Jim is, for sure, never gonna be in that sequel. The producers want to introduce some new faces in the franchise and in the movie business with "not so famous young actors".
The next movie IS going to be about the Joker, that's a fact, but they already have an idea of who is going to be their villainous clown. In fact, they're hesitating on two possible actors:
Lachy Hulme (who played Sparks in the Matrix)
and the guy from Wimbledon, Paul Bettany

Still, I like to dream about Jim being the Joker but I think these boys are really going to rock the screen anyways!

Good. I am still highly annoyed that they are making another movie with The Joker!!! There is so many batman villian dudes that they should just move on to something else. It was a succesful movie and I think it is a bad move to make a remake on something that was succesful, because whenever you do that it turns to crap anyway.
What makes you weak is what makes me stronger.

You guys should stop talking about "remakes"... because whatever Chris Nolan is going to do with the next movie, it will NOT feel or look like a remake, because it simply is going to be something new.
By the way, Nicholson was great in Joker but he did not look like the "real" one which is really slim and has this psychotic look in the eyes.
The Joker is, in my opinion, the baddest villain ever in the comic book universe, and the idea of making it closer to its roots is not a bad one, he's a very versatile character. Too bad it's not going to be Carrey
, but the two finalists have what it takes to take the Joker farther than what we have seen in the 1989 Batman.
