I try to shut it off at night
I dont get amber alerts then
But if it was 20 years ago
I wouldnt get it then anyway
But i see the value if someones
Driving home or on night shift
And they watch out
We didnt have cell phones back then
And it is possible to just shut it off
It is addictive and we all have to
Train ourselves to ket it go

It can take time
But we can control this
And not let it contol us
Just do what u can
In little bits
Eventually it will happen

My biggest problem with smartphones, is the fact that everyone expects you to be available every single minute of the day. It's extremely annoying and stressful. People send messages in five different apps and are mad when you don't answer immediately. I mean, what's up with that? I'll make time when I want to, caus most of the time, it's just peoples brain farts.
What helped for me, was uninstalling all social media apps on my phone. You won't believe how clearly the rest in my life returned. I even signed out on Facebook forever and only use Twitter on my laptop. All little things that help. Also, I stopped ALL notifications. And when I want to enjoy the silence, I turn off sound completely. And if I have missed calls or messages, I'll check them when I want to.
