?no real actors anymore?

Post by THE 5th KIND »

i`ve seen a clip from the new movie "Polarexpress", with Tom Hanks.-
it kinda scared me that every actor is computer-animated(motion capture).-
i think it`s no good that actors-plays getting "unreal".-
we got animation for fantasy-characters and maby special-effects.-
but we got actors for playing real.-

what do you think about it?

I've seen a clip before as well, did you know that Tom Hanks does 5 voices? I'm really interested in listening to the voices... just to see how he does.

Well, for me, I don't care too much about seeing them playing "real", but yeh, there are differences. Doing voices is still quite hard though, there's still the acting bit to it as well. I don't really know what I'm talking about anymore.......

I like to see them real and unreal. Like I wanted to see Jim do Over The Hedge....... but he decided not to........ oh well. :)

I don't think that there will come more unreal than real actors in future but I don't like it when nearly all effects in a movie a made with a computer. For example the newest James Bond "Die another Day". There was too much computer, I liked the effects in "Terminator 3" more because they were more classically made and not nearly completely with a comp.

@samurai cable: no, i didn`t know that Hanks is speaking 5 characters.-that, indeed, is interesting.-
i like to listen to actors givin`their voices to animated characters.-
but, what i don`t like to see, is, that actors were replaced for an computer-animated figure, that represents the actor itselv.-
and that`s what`s happining here, isn`t it?-

Re THE 5th KIND: Oh yeah, I see what you mean now~ Well, I think it's still alright; I don't think they'll make too many movies like that, with all the animated characters molded like the actual actor. Or will they? I dunno... it's still interesting to watch though... to me anyway :D I don't really mind 8)
