Carla Gugino signs up for Penguin duty

According to Variety, it looks like the casting for "Mr. Popper's Penguins" is well underway, with the official signing of "Sin City" and "Watchman" star Carla Gugino as Jim Carrey's leading lady.
In this film adaptation of the 'Atwater' children's book, Jim will play Mr. Popper, a businessman who finds himself with a posse of penguins and the challenges and mayhem that ensue.
Though Carla Gugino's role is unspecified at present, the book does feature a female lead in the form of Mrs. Popper, the hero's wife who helps to deal with the penguins.
