More Green for the Mean
10 Dec 2000

For a fourth consecutive weekend, "The Grinch" remained the undefeated champion of the Holiday season box-office. All the new releases, which included action movie "Vertical Limit", starring Chris O'Donnel, were unable to move His Royal Meanness from Boxofficeland's throne.

"The Grinch" earned $18.5 million from Friday through Sunday, which brought its total to an amazing $195.5 million. With the $200 million mark approaching at rocket speed, "The Grinch" is shaping to become the year's biggest grossing film, ahead of "Mission Impossible 2".

Next week's releases include Disney animation "The Emperor's New Groove", "What Woman Want", starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, and teen comedy "Dude, Where's My Car?".

  1. "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas" -- $18.5 million
  2. "Vertical Limit" -- $16 million
  3. "Proof of Life" -- $10.4 million
  4. "Unbreakable" -- $7.5 million
  5. "Dungeons and Dragons" -- $7 million
