1998 MTV Movie Awards nomination
17 Apr 1998 As usual Jim Carrey was nominated for this year’s MTV Movie Awards, in the category of Best Comedic Performance for "Liar Liar". He’ll be competing against Rupert Everett - "My Best Friend's Wedding", Mike Myers - "Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery'", Adam Sandler - "The Wedding Singer" and Will Smith - "Men In Black".
This year's nominees will be highlighted during a "MTV Movie Awards Nominations Special", hosted by Chris Connelly and shown on April 15 at 10:30PM (ET/PT). The winners will be announced at the "1998 MTV Movie Awards" ceremony, to be taped on May 30 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The event will air on June 4, at 9PM (ET/PT).
