Crosses $100 Million in North America

Jim Carrey's "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" is continuing to perform strongly at the box office. The latest installment in the long-running Sega video game franchise has surpassed $100 million in North America within its first eight days of release. This solid start sets a strong pace for the sequel, which had a production budget of $122 million and already has a follow-up in development.
The movie earned another $12.6 million on Friday to boost its North American tally to $112 million.
